Week 7 Itch

Iโ€™ve just completed Week 7 and found it really hard ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป I had a good 25 min run at the end of week 6, and at the start of Week 7. But the third one went so badly I gave up halfway through and Iโ€™ve just repeated that run and had to stop after 23 mins. I think I need to repeat Week 7 as I canโ€™t imagine running 28 minutes next week. Iโ€™ve tried slowing down, normally Iโ€™m between 6/7 min KM but I tried to run around 7.30 km today, Iโ€™ve tried changing my route and playlist but still struggling. Feel like Iโ€™m constantly clock watching to see how long I have left. Which is annoying as Iโ€™ve annoyed it up til now- any advice appreciated...?

Heeeeeey x

Even though I'm a newbie myself and not as experienced yourself ๐Ÿฅ‰

What really helped me was sticking to a flat surface ๐Ÿ›ฃ and listening to tunes I loved and could sing ๐ŸŽถ along to. Also before my run ๐Ÿƒ having a banana ๐ŸŒ and throughout the day drinking plenty of water ๐Ÿ’ฆ!!

Also my mindset ๐Ÿง  as I keep thinking ๐Ÿ’ญ that I'm only walking ๐Ÿšถ faster and not running ๐Ÿƒ and really helped me!!

Most importantly please don't be defeated!! Keep on going you DEFFO CAN DO IT!!

Yes I think itโ€™s a mind over matter thing definitely. I gave up last time on Week 6, so I think Week 7 was always going to be a blocker for me. I think I will repeat it and see how it goes before moving onto Week 8, as the thought of 28 mins run now to me is not a good one! ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜•

Awwwwwwww please don't think you've been defeated!! It's just a minor thing ๐Ÿ˜Š

I think that the longer runs ๐Ÿƒ are easier compared to the shorter ones!!

I know it's obvious ๐Ÿ˜… but please just lower your pace ๐Ÿƒ and don't think you failed as positive โž• thoughts ๐Ÿ’ญ will pull you through.

You only lose if you've given up ๐Ÿฅ‰ and you haven't so that's fantastic ๐Ÿ˜Š!!

I always listen ๐Ÿ‘‚ to this song ๐ŸŽถ when I'm feeling defeated it's in Arabic but with English subtitles ๐Ÿ“!! Have a listen ๐Ÿ‘‚ and let it lift your spirits ๐Ÿ‘ป up!!

You don't say why you gave up but to me it's one of 3 things.

1 you were out of breath. Solution is to run slower.

2 you were aching too much. Solution is to stretch and keep hydrated.

3 your brain told you that it was hard and you couldn't do it. Solution is to banish those thoughts and face the facts. The fact is you can do this. You've done it before and had a good run. Maybe this time you were unlucky and just had a bad run. It happens. But any bad run is better than no run.

You can do this. At this stage it's more of a mental battle than a physical one. So I would repeat w7r3 and then move on to week 8. Forget the clock and take your time and enjoy and benefit from the program๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜€

I think itโ€™s number 3! I think itโ€™s my brain ๐Ÿง  I will have a rest day tomorrow and see how I get on Sunday. There was also a hill that I was avoiding so I just kept repeating the same stretch as I knew it was flat

Sounds good to me. I've also got a hill on my route. Was a nightmare when I first started but now I've got fitter I hardly notice it!! But I put it off for a while and doubted myself. Hope to see a successful post from you in the next few days. Remember slow and steady and onward and upward!!!!๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

Thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š Iโ€™ve done the hill before with no trouble but for some reason today I couldnโ€™t face it! Iโ€™m sure after a rest tomorrow Iโ€™ll be eating to go on Sunday ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

I always count to half way, then count down to the end. Once youโ€™re halfway, youโ€™ve got less ahead than behind you. That helps ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ
