Week 7 complete!

Hi all!

Just completed week 7 and thought I'd share for the first time. It's been tough but it's a great feeling when I've completed each run. So here are my distances (distances are for the 25 min run only):

Run 1 - 4.5km

Run 2 - 4.3km

Run 3 - 4.6km

My week 6 run 3 was 4.2km so I wanted to beat this at the beginning of the week, I ran the first km fast and managed to keep the pace going so I was very happy with the run. Run 2 was difficult, after the first km I was struggling so I decided I needed to slow down and make sure I finished. Even though it was slower than the previous run I felt really good because I struggled through it when I was having an off day. Run 3 was very good, I decided that I wanted to run at a pace which, if I kept it up, would allow me to run 5k in week 8. I was on course at 3k but was tiring but by focussing on the week 8 objective I kept it up. I was very happy when I finished, but I don't think I could have kept the pace up for 3 more minutes so I think I'll slow it down for my next run.

Only 6 more runs to go now!

Thanks for the kind words. You have the right aim! I just use distance as a way of motivating myself to keep going out there and running!

That's a fabulous pace you've got there. I did week 6 R 3's 25 mins and I clocked about 3.5. But we are all different I guess. Let us know how you get on. When you start, you don't really consider how important pace is, so you're right to slow it down a bit to increase the time.

Good luck in the rest of your journey.

Hey there, Speedy - we'll done!! I'm nowhere near those distances. Did 4km today, but it took me 29 mins (week 7, run 2). You're doing brilliantly. I take my hat off to you!
