Week 6 Run 2 🏃‍♂️

So, I set off this morning on W6R2 not feeling particularly great, but I set off nether the less. The first couple of minutes I felt a bit sluggish but I soon got into my stride, so much so, that by the time Michael was telling me to slow down for my 3 minute recovery, I felt disappointed.

I did as I was told and swiftly embarked on the second 10 minute stint. This absolutely flew by. A combination of me finding a comfortable pace and the good music in my ears helped me immensely.

The issue was that when Michael confirmed that I had completely the 2nd 10 minute run, I didn’t want to stop. So I carried on. I carried on until just before the five minute warm down was completed. I broke the 5km barrier this morning and felt so proud of myself, despite it taking 38 minutes from setting off on my warm up.

The question I have is: has anyone else done this and will it do me any harm? I felt good so didn’t want to stop.

Sorry marv123, you should not have done what you did today, I am glad that you did not get injured, you should keep to all the runs as planned in the course, you jumped from run 1 of week 6 straight to the runs of week 9, by doing that you risked getting injured, have a extra day off running and repeat run 2 of week 6 the way Michael asks you to run it.

Wow, you must be feeling amazing! I did week 6 run 2 today (had an extra rest day yesterday as just wasn't really feeling it) and I did actually enjoy it much more than the last couple - though I can't say I wasn't pretty happy when Laura told me it was time to stop running! Your fitness must be pretty good, well done 😁

I was feeling great until I was ordered to run it again 🤣

In all seriousness, I’ve had a rest day today and had no obvious side effects to yesterday. Going to crack on with run 3 tomorrow as planned but stop after the 25mins or I’ll get my wrist slapped again 😳😉

Well done on doing the run - I actually enjoyed it and did feel aggrieved when told to stop. How did the extra rest day work out? I tend to walk between 5km and 10km on my rest days, mainly to just stretch the calves out.

Well I mean I am no expert so can't exactly challenge the position but I would imagine everybody's bodies are different and we all move at different paces! The extra rest day didn't really feel like it made much difference, I didn't take it because I needed it so much as that I was cosy on the sofa with a book yesterday and didn't really feel like it haha! But good to get back on it today ☺

Tomorrow marks the end of weeks 6 and another milestone! I have days like that where I don’t feel like running, but they have become less often recently.
