Week 6 done and dusted, run 1 I had to abandon due to ankle pain in the warm up walk, this worried me and was the first run I had had to abandon (and hobble home) but managed it three days later with both run 1 and 2 giving me calves and ankle issues and then along came run 3 with no ankle issues but calves both aching which settled down to a manageable level over the run, I think I adjusted my pace which helped but I did it and now with 25 minutes and 2.32 km behind me Laura tells me I'm officially a runner.!!!!
Well while 30 minutes is now within reach 5k is some way off I'll have to pick up the pace, interestingly as the last minute approached Laura said if you can pick up the pace go for it, I could and did something I tried some weeks and shorter runs ago and couldn't, my pace and breathing are now within my comfort zone and it looks like I have something left in reserve to improve with providing my legs can handle it!
