Week8run2 And I’m having Phone Trouble!

Why did I find this so hard? I was slightly flummoxed when I realised I had inadvertently paused the app, I restarted it but knew that it wouldn’t be accurate. However that didn’t account for why I was so sluggish and really didn’t enjoy it much but did keep going to the end, or what I guessed was the end but because I was so slow I probably ran for more than 30 minutes! I think perhaps I need two days off between these longer runs? Does anyone else have a problem with trying to start their music, the couch to 5k app and a Runkeeper app? I have not managed to get them all synchronised and going for the whole run without inadvertently switching something off! Last week I had someone telling me every minute how far I had run and how fast, she soon got the chop!i also hold my phone because I’m struggling to find a good solution as to where to keep it, recommendations please!

Can't help with the tech..........I run with as little as possible.

Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

As a runner you need to drink 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.

Well done, you did it.

I'd highly recommend getting a running belt. Mine cost a couple of pounds (there are other options available), has two zip pockets and buckles around my waist. It's made of lycra and expands to hold my phone, tissues, house key etc. Once it's on I don't even know it's there but it's easy to access if I need anything.

It's surprising how running holding something changes the way you run; I'm far more comfortable and relaxed running with everything safe and tidy in my running belt.

I agree - get a running belt. Putting my phone away not only stops me constantly checking how many minutes I have left, it also means I’m not inadvertently tapping the screen and pausing things (although I managed to do that through my headphones the other day 🤷🏻‍♀️).

Thanks, I think I’d imagined them uncomfortable but I will try one!

Good point Lula, I found my runs far more enjoyable when I stopped clock watching and relaxed and enjoyed my podcasts & surroundings.
