Well I did it yesterday!!! It was really ok, had a few moments where I thought I can't do this but just slowed down (if that's possible at my pace) and finished with my usual 30 second sprint which felt great. I have certainly felt a difference on week 5, my muscles do feel more achy and calves felt a bit tight, but again am sticking to the post run stretches (30 seconds each) who are my best friends ( I should get out more lol). Also I can really tell how my overall fitness has improved, I can feel my body just goes faster and I have to make an effort to slow down sometimes, so I am now in a phase where I am learning a new speed, interesting.... I'm only tracking my distance to keep me engaged with the process and encouraged by what I can do and am not expecting to reach 5k by the end so I reached 2k for the 20 min run yesterday, I'm more than happy with that. Can't wait for our local running shop to re-open so I can have a gait reading and treat myself to some good trainers. Next run tomorrow
W5R3: Well I did it yesterday!!! It was really... - Couch to 5K
W5R3
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran.
You are not the only person who is waiting for their local running shop to reopen, sports shops maybe in the first wave of non food shops to open after the lockdown.
Yes thanks for that, I noticed from previous posts that W6R1 can catch you out after the high from W5 and I'm not planning to let my guard down , but have been planning a nice route and doing my usual pep talks to myself. Yay that's good news, based on how many people I now see running every day bet the queues will be massive
