My treadmill came on Friday, a few days early. 2 hours to put it together (not the estimated 45min) and then right at the end we found we did not have the right adapter to plug it in as it was a European plug so I had to wait until yesterday after an adapter came to have a go.
It is lovely, smooth and quiet and folds up really well. I have put it So it looks out the front window and I can see the world going by as Iโm on it. I have seen many more runners over the last few weeks out of that window.
I seem to of lost a bit of running fitness since lockdown, the cross training has been going great but running uses its own muscles, before lockdown I was in the endurance sessions of my HM training so was doing between 7km and 17km runs, I tried a 10 min run yesterday and my glutes were kicking up a storm by the end so I have downloaded the app again and am going to start from scratch. On Monday it will be week 1 run 1, it will help me get used to the slightly different way of running on the treadmill and just get me back up to speed again. Also I do think my legs are not being used as much as normal, usually I do between 12,000 and 20,000 steps everyday now I am struggling to hit 6,000 so all that will have a knock on effect, but the treadmill will help with all that.
As always the best way is slow and steady.๐.
Happy running to everyone.

Thank you, Hiya ๐, yes it has to be slow and steady. Iโm not going to mess this up and end up on the IC for the sake of a couple of weeks. Stay safe. Rfc xxx
Oh, very interesting. Good luck with it all. I am also locked down/no chance to run, so will follow this with particular interest. Yesterday, for the very first time, my thoughts turned to maybe, maybe a treadmill.... ๐ค๐ณ. Do keep us posted on how you find it as you get going. ๐๐๐ผ
Yes, I too am expecting a long haul. Mr GS is 90 and has suddenly developed heart failure, so no question of going anywhere. I miss running so much, so maybe I too will be treadmill searching if so, I shall follow your experienced footsteps! ๐๐
Definitely not experienced on treadmills ๐. They are hard to come by just now I got into the habit of checking for the one I wanted on decathlon every two hours and within an hour of the new ones being released they had sold out again. I have had stuff from decathlon before and the do a lot of product research before they put their name to anything so for me it seemed like a safer bet. I think we are locked down until they come up with a non live vaccine, that thought pushed us into the treadmill. MrRfc has been running a little too today. Look after you both โค๏ธXxx
Thank you, I am amazed at how soon fitness really goes when you donโt walk. Even after the op I walked, i have never gone this amount of time without a long walk in decades and I can feel it ๐. Rfc x
Oh dear - thatโs a new take on โIโve not got a plug for thatโ. I used to take the plug off my iron when we bought something new as I never used that!! Enjoy the new journey.
Thank you, it does feel good to be properly active again. I must of grown up a bit because I didnโt lose the plot because I didnโt have the right plug ๐๐๐. By the way I hate ironing too, luckily MrRfc is good at it. ๐. Take care. Rfc x
My OH is not domesticated so thereโs no ironing done here since the 90s when my son used it once!! It fused the whole house. Still have it for emergencies ๐คฃ
