I ran for 15 minutes straight, and following a disruption crossing the road (costing me about 45-60 seconds) ran the remaining 4 minutes. It was bloody hard. How did people find that run? I was shocked at my ability to run for 15 minutes straight but found by that point I was really lagging- mainly with my leg pain and feeling a bit lightheaded.
I also thought my pace was pretty slow...wondering if I've been going too slow the whole way through the programme and now I'll never be able to get it up to a more decent speed which isn't just above a walk...still! Managed 2.3 miles total.

Have you read the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it includes advice on pacing, minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Don't worry about being slow, this plan is about duration, not speed.
Have a rest day, prepare well by hydrating well and give it another go at a slower pace.
You can do this.
Don't worry about how far you are going, just concentrate on the run in hand. The danger with expectations, is that if you don't achieve them you feel like you failed. You just faced down W5R3, feared by many, you should be patting yourself on the back and dancing round the kitchen. Try and shift your mental attitude and it will help I think.
