Morning Guys, this is my first post after completing my first run this morning at the ungodly hour of 6am (it's the only time I can fit it in with a 1yr old) So... I have 2 children, and unlike my first this second child has destroyed my body (but he was worth it) he has just turned 1 and I am still struggling to get back to my pre baby weight. I guess I want to know hear about peoples success stories with couch 2 5k to motivate me to keep going :)

Keep at it. Honestly if I can do it you can. 53 overweight with arthritis. Keep your pace slow it’s all about building confidence and stamina you will be so surprised when you go on to each week how got you are getting and how your energy improves. I know you can do this. Go for it and think about good old Tom at 99 and all those slogging it out at the NHS.

Well done and welcome... Just read the posts... and the replies and see how far everyone is getting and how brilliantly they re all doing, despite the current situation:)

The motivation comes from you and you have already said, why you want to do this.

Hold that thought as you move on... knowing every run you take is getting you fitter and stronger.

Linked with a healthy eating regime you could be on to a winner and you are getting some great extra workouts too on a daily basis with two small ones!

Do check out the post for new runners.. there are so many useful tips and links there.

Keep posting for terrific support and encouragement.. there are so many awesome Mamas and Dadas too, on-here doing wonderfully!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Some C25k graduates go on to run marathons and ultras, some just carry on doing three 30 minute runs per week, but all improve their fitness, mental wellbeing and reduce their statistical risk of a whole raft of life limiting conditions and increase their life expectancy.

Over more than 20 years this plan has transformed the lives of countless thousands, if not millions of new runners around the world.

Enjoy your journey.

Well done you and keep at it! I’m about to go on W1R3 in a couple of hours and as a man of 72 didn’t think I knew how to run anymore! The satisfaction I’ve felt so far has been really encouraging.
