Motivation needed!

Running was/has never been my thing but following a chat with a colleague I thought I’d give the C25k a try. Though I’m one for trying anything out at least once and I know this will be good for me, however aside from procrastinating and body ache I need the will to get out there and just do it. I think I need a microphone close to my ear and be yelled at -Help!

The art of procrastination is always tempting. You just need to get out and do it, it's only 30 to 40 mins of the day.

Whilst you may not always enjoy it most of the time you will be pleased you did it.

Being yelled at is rarely a motivator I find

Hi Mojo I was exactly the same but 3 days ago I bit the bullet and done my first run/jog/walk. It was more walking and very slow jogging but I did it and done my second this morning. The sense of achievement is fab so just go for it go on you can do x

Hi mojo

I graduated yesterday after 9 weeks of running. I've never run before am overweight and getting on a bit but decided that if I want to live a bit longer I needed to sort myself out.

Have kept a diary on here if you want to check it out and it's tough both physically and mentally. I could barely finish w1r1 but stuck with it and cutting a long story short did my first 5k yesterday (without stopping) and that was just 9 weeks

Hope that helps

Happy running 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Remember if I can do it anyone can

All the motivation you need is right here just keep checking in everyday and see what others have to say that's what I did and I'm doing great ☺☺

Welcome to the forum and well done on your wise decision.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Motivation has to come from you, but if you don't want to feel fitter and happier........no, that is not just a cliche, it is a fact..........live longer, be less likely to suffer from a whole raft of life limiting conditions and actually feel more alive than ever in your life, then just stay there on your couch, in a diminishing world.

C25k works in ways that you cannot even begin to imagine. Just read this forum........

Enjoy your journey.

You can do this. It’s time to start something that you’ll finish. Set some goals... have a small treat for beating each week... have a bigger prize for beating the programme... and another for meeting some further down the road running goal. Just kick your butt out of the door every other day until the point where you need that run. Enjoy the journey.
