I did it!!!!! Wasn’t easy but I took the advice and just kept putting in step in front of the other!! OMG I’m so proud of my self. Looking forward to next week now ( and my rest day) however how fast should I be running? Don’t think I’m very fast!?!

Brilliant! I wouldn't worry about speed - I went through that, thinking, oh I'm so slow, and getting overtaken by other people. But reading the forum and all the chat, I ended up deciding that the important thing was to go the pace I could keep going at, steadily, and worry about speed later. If I have the energy, I try to run a bit faster for the last minute of a run, but otherwise I just go at what feels manageable, so I don't end up disappointing myself and having to stop.

You deserve to be very proud of yourself, congratulations on completing run 3 of week 6, you are now OFFICIALLY a RUNNER, onwards and upwards to week 7. 😊

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Congratulations! I'm just in the middle of the programme too but all the advice I've heard is to go as slow as you want as long as you keep running- going slowly is better than trying to go too fast. You should have enough breath to hold a conversation, not be gasping for breath. I've found just keeping it steady and not going too quickly makes the run much more pleasant and doable for me.

Well done!! You’ll find week 7 very doable after that run! I run really really slowly! But completing each run is more important than speed!

Brilliant stuff ... well done. Just done that one myself and it was tough. Good luck with week 7 ... keep on going.

Fabulous job MrsDidds. Week 7 was my favourite 👍

Well done 🤗 Huge achievement serious running now.

I did W5 R3 today and that longer run was a surprise! Did it tho, but there were walkers ahead of me and I think they were faster than my jogging... speed isn’t important just building stamina and strength safely. That’s my take. Keep running.
