I'm new here...Week 5!

Hi, I'm new here :)

I started Couch to 5k in November but amidst work and taking up rockclimbing (3 times a week, miss it!) I didn't get too far through the programme. With the pandemic I've promised myself to try keep up my fitness despite not being able to climb, and to make the most of all my extra time. I was NEVER a runner, or sporty at all at school and my fitness was pretty awful until this year, so I'm proud of myself for getting to this point.

I did Week 5 Run 2 today (8 mins, 5 min walk, 8 mins) and found it tricky- I found myself more exhausted at the end than I have been for a while, not since my earliest runs. This is all in all making me nervous for my first 20 minute full run, my next one!

Any advice for Week 5 Run 3?

Also I heard Week 6 Run 1 is notoriously hard- can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!

Just prepare everything right, drink enough water, make sure for the first few minutes of the run you get a steady rhythm and go slow, you will be ok, good luck 👍🏻

Just back from running W5R2 and I’m in the same boat as you......very worried about W5R3 .... 20 minutes .... oh gosh 🤬 why such a long run. But I’m determined to give it my all ..... bet we can do it!!!

Hi Reindella and Sweet69, don't worry about run 3 of week 5, the program has prepared you for it, just take it slowly, after you complete it both of you will be very proud of yourselves. 😊 🏃🏾

Take run 1 of week 6 carefully as it is back to interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3.
