Pain in my knee 😢

Hi All, completed week 5 r1 yesterday, however I’ve woke up with a pain in my knee, it’s worse when I walk up the stairs. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a few knee pains at the beginning. I now ice my knees after every run and do knee strengthening exercises regularly on non run days. If your knee still hurts when it’s your next run day I would have a few more days of rest. My knees are much better now.

The guide to the plan includes advice on dealing with injury, minimising impact, stretching after every run and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Many people have pains in their knees when they start running.

Also it’s reassuring to know that many people experience knee pain when they first start running, I didn’t want to have to stop.
