Your plan is a winner eat healthier and grab some exercise 👍🙂 it'll work
When you say to yourself I'm too busy, too tired, weather's not great, I'll go tomorrow... stop and think about how you felt when you wrote this, and get it done, you will feel so proud of yourself.
i’m only a week ahead of you. Won’t lie, first run is a killer because everything is strange! Run 2 is much more relaxed.
BUT, you feel amazing all day when you e done it and it’s addictive!
good luck
Totally agree that you do feel a great sense of achievement when your done it
I’m only on week 4 and this is a MASSIVE achievement for me as I could run 50 mars prior to this
Great app
Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy your journey.
I know you'll be reminded every time you listen to the podcast, but my best tip is: don't try to run fast!
I was very unfit and could barely complete the week one runs - even the brisk walking was difficult too!
I did lose some weight before I started C25K, but now I run regularly, I find I can eat more without putting the weight back on.
I've never loved running like most people here do, but I know I need to do it as I don't want to lose this level of fitness after all the effort getting here!
Best wishes to you and go for it! You can definitely do it, so prove it.
I’m on week three and can’t believe I got here. Two stone overweight and losing it fast. I ran first two weeks in normal short boots as flat trainers were painful but gradually moved to a high trainer Run as slow as you can and with short steps. Distance doesn’t matter. The best advice I got was week three which has helped my stamina and that is DONT bob Up and down running but try to stay level and rather swing at the waist left right, you will go further. Good luck!🍀
Lots of good advice already given to you and I would add that staying connected with this forum is really helpful. You will feel both inspired and supported ... take each day/run at a time, you will get there.
Good luck. Take your runs slowly...I started as barely a a jog as I cant run. It meant i finished. Which made me feel amazing. If it's hard do half you have to start some where! What ever you achieve it is an achievement! Better then yesterday. I've made it to week 2 your get there 2!
I have started C25K three times over the last few years. This most recent has been the most successful so far. The other times I couldn’t get past week one and only tried week 2 once. I was overweight. And it was too much for my body. You know better than anyone what you can handle. I’d highly recommend reading the info shared to you by IannodaTruffe it’s all really good.
And my recommendation would be to actually wait to start C25K. First start with doing 30 min brisk walks instead. Maybe every other day.
I have been upping my walking over the last year. And I feel like that prepared me really well for feeling more able with C25K.
As I say though, you will know yourself best. So do what you need to. And wish you the best of luck xx
Some great advice and best one for me (starting W3 tomorrow) is RUN SLOW
This was me three weeks ago but now I’m on W4. Each ‘jump’ feels impossible but it is sheer willpower that keeps me going for it - I will not be beaten! To have a positive mind set and someone to boast to - even by text - is awesome too. The 8 min run looks unattainable for me at present, but I've managed the 5, so why not? Trust the programme.
