What to do about my wife?

So my wife, like many others, is working from home.

She has never been sporty or done any running but decided she needed exercise and should give running a go (she sees me do it all the time).

So I started her off with week 1 run 1.

She didn't think much of that. So she decided to tag along behind me when i went out (yeah - what am I going to say?)

She did 2k with no problems. Not out of breath or any aches or pains. She wanted to go again the next day!

Today I got her to do week 5 run 1. No problem at all. She then fast walked home and did the gardening.

Hmmmm.

Not quite sure what to do?

Carry on? Advice gratefully accepted.

Well done on getting her out.

Building resistance to impact in our bones and muscles takes months.

We are all capable of doing way more than our bodies are conditioned to do, but not without increasing our injury risk. Sticking to gently progressive training plans is the safest way to push our limits, whilst gently increasing our resistance to injury.

With that in mind she would be far better advised to follow the plan.

Injury strikes out of the blue and can stop you for days, weeks or months.

Has she read the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

I am half way through the plan after a lay off of nearly a year. I know I could run 5k today, but my body needs reconditioning, even after 7 years of prior running.

He is right in what he said it is better to follow the plan and graduate than do your own thing and fail 😊
