It's been a pleasure to have taken part in, and improved my outlook as a result of Couch to 5K. It's certainly a Good Friday for me, and without the crucifixion. The run went really well.
For my final run, I hit the 5K mark (3.1mi) and achieved what seemed impossible all those weeks ago. It's not very often that I set my mind to something and follow it all the way through to the end, so this is very gratifying for me.
I'm going to have a huge grin on my face all day. I'm buzzing π
Now, that the plan is complete, the next step is to consolidate my training. I don't want to lose this life-enhancing habit. My focus now, is to continue running 5K until I'm satisified that I'm comfortable with the distance, while also concentrating on my technique. I'm guessing this will take me over the summer period. After consolidation, I'm going to move to another challenge: 5K to 10K.
The whole experience has been brilliant. Early morning runs, evening runs, etc. Being out in the open gives a clarity of thought. I can't see me ever giving this up. I've seen all sorts when I've been out on this journey - some funny, some quite serious. Today, I've been left with the memory of a fox running across my path βΊ
When I first started the plan, I weighed myself and took lots of measurements to compare. I haven't been dieting, and have eaten as normal. Only yesterday I ate a 200g bar of chocolate. Yeah - I know. Oink!
Today has been the first time I've stood on scales to weigh myself since the challenge began. I knew I'd lost weight as I've had to tighten my belt, plus my clothes have felt looser. I've lost on average 1cm from across my body (arms, legs, belly, etc). This all equates to a loss of 10lb. Brilliant!
Have a blessed Good Friday, and Happy Easter to everyone!
