The Foo Fighters and Long Road to Ruin was the first track up on Week Five, Run Two. I was hoping the song wasn't an omen. It wasn't.
The C25K plan is now becoming a mental + physical battle for me as the weeks mount up. But, I'm winning the fight - and it's quite pleasing.
When I first looked at the plan and analysed the training sessions, run three of this week did strike some fear into me. I think it does that with most. Today, I ran 16 minutes, albeit with a break in the middle - I know physically I can do the 20 minute milestone on Friday. The challenge is my mind - and to be honest, I do think I've overcome those demons that keep telling me to stop.
It was quite breezy out this morning, but dry which is the main thing. I headed along my local bridleway and then onto the High Street. Everyone seemed quite cheery today, saying hello. Perhaps the daffodils on show have given hope that winter has gone and sunnier days are on the horizon? Once Friday has passed, the Daffy will hopefully be a reminder of how far I've come in future years.
I don't intend to give this up.
