I stopped to take a picture, stopped tracking buzzed clicked save got a little stroppy because it keeps doing this, off again, little trot to catch Willow up, ooo bluebells, stop to take a photo, tracking stopped.....this is getting boring just read the first bit three times
During this time i decided to take out my left ear bud because i felt a bit cut off from the world with both in and blow me my music stopped, I daren’t try and put it back on again because Garmin would likely throw a hissy fit and not save my walk/run anyway by now we are passing the cemetery so i can’t even swear
Turned, took a photo across to the sea and flipping Garmin stopped again, I had had enough so stomped off and blow me down Garmin started up again, without ending without wanting me to save.... I learn today if i stop garmin stops if i start again garmin starts again now that’s way too clever for me lol
Have fun, go run, smile

Ha I haven’t got a clue what I’ve got it on it really makes me grumble maybe it’s time i read how to set it up the way i want, I don’t have a nicotine patch on and a bit of gum might have helped but i forgot to take, finding now though i have control over wanting to swear and cry when things don’t go right, so feel less dependent on nicotine
Stay safe Maddie and thank you for your helpful reply
If you go on Garmin Connect, tap on your device at the top (next to the sync button) tap activity profiles then run outdoor, you’ll see a toggle for auto pause on that screen and your watch will get that setting next time you sync. Tapping < top left all the way out will start a sync automatically too.
Well after a lot of tapping and tutting I really think i need to read the manual, i don’t seem to have activity profile on mine, ive tapped and changed and generally played around and don’t know what i’ve changed but definitely not auto pause as never found that, it’s lucky i’m on holiday, at least i have time at the moment
It’s ok I found it on the watch and in checked auto pause, as i can’t go out again today i will check it out tomorrow, I’m really glad i wrote that post because I would never have known what was going on apart from finding out it stops when i do to take a photo or cross a road and starts when i do
I still don’t like the vo2 max though but i guess i could read that up as well, our route today was pretty steep and I managed the hill better than i used to but it still made me less fit and older in vo2max but i know it’s a guide only
My VO2 Max is pretty poor according to Garmin, even though I know it’s not - judging by the other people I regularly run with (who are generally at least a decade younger than I am).
Oh Willow just kept going because he’s not so bothered about how far we’ve been until he gets home, and the he says how far how fast etc and i shriek I don’t know because it keeps stopping and starting and then i add all the little bits together lol
Wish i could just sort it out so it starts when i push start and stops when i push stop
And v02 max is driving me mad, the more exercise i do the older it says i am, I’m currently as fit as the average 76 year old which feels like a bit of an insult, ooo maybe i need a bit of gum that will chill me lol
Am I the only one who likes auto pause? I like to take pictures en route, but don't want it included in my run time. it comes in handy if you have to wait to cross the road too.
I have a friend who loves autopause, before she got a Garmin recently, nearly all our Canicross runs took place to a chorus of ‘resume’ announcements from her phone as it paused once you got below a set pace, not just when stationary. 😆
Dexy5 I probably would have liked it if I knew what it was, i thought it just stopped and i had to save it before setting it off again, now i know I might try and see what it’s like
