Just did run 1 on week 1. Only managed half of it before feeling like i was going to puke. Hoping to be able to do Atleast 3/4 of it on Sunday! Planning to work my way up to it.

Hi Sofia and welcome to the forum and to C25K. I know you will receive some excellent advice shortly from more experienced runners but, as a Week 2 newbie myself, my best advice is just do it at your own pace and don’t try and set any records. This is all about improving your own fitness and wellbeing and only you will know how fast or slow feels good for you. Build up slowly to it and I’m sure you will feel better with each run you do.

Good luck and keep going. 👍

Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1 and welcome to the forum, remember that you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, follow the program, run slow and steady, don't run on consecutive days, if you do you could injure yourself, good luck, onwards and upwards to run 2 of week 1.

Hi Sofia_Khwaja well done for starting. I found week 1 really challenging. Maybe slow your running down slightly. I jog really slowly and it is working for me. I get over taken all the time but I don't care because I am doing this for me no one else 😉 good luck!

Welcome. Don’t worry, that run is so tough and nearly killed me... I suspect your issue is the same as mine was, too much speed. Slow it right down, there’s no too slow so long as you’re running.

Have a read of the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which amongst many other things discusses breathing and pacing.

Be proud of yourself for getting out there. You ran more than last week, more than last month, more than in a long time... we all start somewhere and the biggest step is getting off that couch.

You can do this... enjoy your journey.

Slow down! It sounds as though you set off too fast. Check out the YouTube clip on Japanese Slow Running which might be useful. This isn’t about speed, it’s about stamina and each run sets you up for the next one. Repeat any that you want to or need to and take as long as you need to finish the programme, nobody’s checking up on you! Stay well hydrated all the time, not just on run days and read Iannoda Truffe’s pinned post for newbies, it will tell you everything you need to know. And don’t forget to let us know how you get on! Good luck!
