Pic made me chuckle as I didn’t realise forum had been around that long

Before I write my post the pic is from Amblermans post 4 days ago. I was just catching up on people posts and read down through some of the responses and spotted this from “ 2021yrs ago “. 🤣🤣🤣

Sorry , I’m easily amused 🙄

Anyway back to me. Slept in a bit this morning so didn’t run until just before 9 but I still didn’t see too many others about. There were a few cars and work vans about and a couple of postmen, but apart from that I only saw 1 pair of dog walkers who smiled and said good morning as they squeezed to one side of the Tarka Trail and I squeezed to the other as I passed them. And I saw 2 other runners going in the opposite direction both of who smiled and said Hi.

I tried the Audiofuel Stepping Stones run again this morning as I’d quite enjoyed it on Sunday morning apart from running into the wind. I think Laura has a bit of an issue with telling the time, bless her. Because she says we will run for 10 mins at 150 bpm, 15 mins at 155 and finish with 5 mins at 160. And then at 28 and a bit minutes she says “ you can stop now. Well on Sunday I managed to keep going until I had done 30 mins in total but I’m afraid today I struggled and folded at 28.

I’d set off quite happily baking the Tarka Trail, turned back at about 16 mins and then turned off into Pottington industrial Estate. Then I ran along the estate for a bit and turned back round towards the town .... and straight into the wind again!!! It hadn’t seemed very strong when I was running with it at my back but along the side of the dual carriageway, where it is quite open with low or no hedges, it was brutal and my legs started to buckle a bit. Reminiscent of poor Flick and her fall on her run the other day I decided to call a holt at 28 mins -not wanting to turn my ankle and injure myself unnecessarily. I did make myself walk briskly all the way home for a further 15 minutes though.

And when I got home I realised why I’d struggled as I was quite a bit faster than I usually am. Not v speedy compared to some but as I’ve been running at 8.25-8.50 min/kms. And today was 7:54 so that’s prob why I found it hard. So I’m not disappointed with myself - I’m quite pleased really. But I shall try this run again to complete it properly again on Thursday when I next run.

Keep safe and happy running folks 💕💪

Well done on your run limberlou - I'd say 28 mins at a faster pace is a real result!👍 I've not used these podcasts - always think I would be rubbish trying to stick to a certain bpm - is it hard?🙂

It’s not too hard. My average is about 154 so I think it does me good to go a bit faster now and then. She starts you off saying here is your brisk walk your feet should be striking the floor in time with the beat 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4. And it’s quite easy to get into the rhythm. Then She reminds you now and then.

And when it goes up it is only gradually and I tend to run to the beat anyway without really listening to the actual music in the podcast. Quite often Garmin tho is I’ve done treadmill running so I must be pretty consistent.

It’s not really my choice of music but some tracks I really like.

It’s worth trying. I downloaded all the podcasts before I leave the house and then they don’t cut out on you midrun.
