How did that happen?!!

Morning folks!

W8, R3 this morning-going to Fuerteventura tomorrow and I plan to graduate there. As I’m used to running on the treadmill in an air conditioned gym I thought I’d push myself to run the 30 mins in case I can’t manage to do it in the heat.

I kept on running past the 28 minute (after doing my 5 min warm up) mark and I’m pleased to say that I ran 5km in a total of 36 mins and 40 seconds!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Can’t believe that I managed to do this 😊

I suppose you can't discount the possibility that this is all a dream...otherwise this programme seems to do exactly what it says on the tin ("yeah, right" was my initial reaction when I came across the app).

How do you find running on a treadmill compared to the outdoors?

Tbh I’ve not run outdoors yet, I’m hoping to move on to this for consolidation.

I felt absolutely fabulous at the end of it!! I’m half expecting to find Bobby Ewing in my shower...😂😂😂

Well done.

Not magic, just basic physiological adaptation.

You put in the work, your body responds.

You may find it tough going when you first go outdoors. The ground doesn't move for you, there are hills, wind and uneven surfaces, so just take it very easy and don't be despondent if you can't match your dreadmill heroics. It will come in time.

Well done - enjoy your run in the sun 😎

Ditto Boxing Day and week 8 run 3 completed too which still feels surreal. Given the amount of food and drink I have consumed today I will be surprised if I complete another tomorrow as feeling a few stone heavier already. That is home cooking for you :)

PS I am away so running early morning ish 9.30 but finding it much harder compared to my normal time of 2. By 2 I have woken up, consumed some fuel and had a relax so raring to go. At 9.30am I am running on empty and the only thing keeping me going is to try and get back on track after an aborted run Sunday 24th as ran 17 mins then my legs gave out but I think that was guilt as I was meant to have left early morning and I didn't. How people run at 5am I have no idea but hats off to you 🎩
