2weeks after graduating C25K

I started C25K in the second week of January determined to become fitter, lose some weight and become a runner.

I found the course suited me very well, I liked the structure and the encouragement to persevere from Laura.

I graduated 2 weeks ago and since then I have been consolidating the progress by continuing to run 3 times a week.

This week I have achieved my best 5k time of 26:39.

Today I thought I’d push myself to go a bit further and despite some strong headwinds and some unexpected snow showers I managed to run 7.66k in 43:15.

So in 3 months I’ve gone from struggling to run for 1 minute to running for 43 minutes and in the process I’ve lost 15lbs. I feel a different person.

So if you’re reading this and currently struggling through the early weeks of C25K I would encourage you to persevere, it does get easier and the sense of achievement in graduating at the end of week 9 is awesome.

Well done.

It is wise for new runners to keep their weekly increase within the 10% rule, as detailed in the guide to post C25k running. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Take care.
