Graduated! 5.2k on my final run on the programme!

Simply the best decision I have made in a long time was to download that app!

For anyone on the larger side I started this at 126 kg and thought what am I doing running! But the mantra ‘follow the programme’ was the best thing I heard wary on. Slowly slowly gaining momentum on runs. Losing an average of 1.2 pounds a week and over the whole period of running I’ve lost 12 pounds!

Got myself some ‘The North Face’ trinity trail shoes for running in, really good for heavier people as provides excellent impact protection.

Ran for 42 mins in total to get to the 5.2k! Didn’t want to stop when the 30 mins was up and slow and steady has been my mantra the whole time.

Anyone in the early weeks of starting this I hope I give you some inspiration that you can do it! Started just shy of 20 stone! Now feeling healthier and fitter. 2 weeks ago had my blood pressure and heart checked and was told everything was excellent!

Now to continue the runs that I have come to love!

Very well done. 🤩

Did you change your diet as well once you got in to it? I lost 20-odd pounds during my nine weeks but I fell off the wagon over Christmas and didn't run and ate junk again. Luckily, I haven't put much back on but it's full steam ahead now spring is here to shift some more.

I just stopped drinking full fat drinks and started to eat more fish! I will start to look at my diet in more detail, I’ve lost 4 inches round the waist so far.
