Made it to week 2 - again, at last

My slow return to running continues! Since I survived the week one runs, still with an achey left foot and sore right hip but that seems to be my new normal now, I decided to go for a week 2 run. Which means concentrating on my running form for 2 whole minutes at a time - it's so much harder having to think at every step, than just running 🤔 This time though, it seemed easier to keep that knee in line, so go me! And I kept it up through the walking intervals too, activating the reluctant right glute and trying to keep the foot and ankle working through each step. It's hard work, but it feels so good to be getting the running gear on, going out and doing it. Even if it is just up and down my street 😁

Keep up the good work! I’m sure the form will fall into place soon. My hip has been much better so I’m hoping to get out again very soon 🤞

Happy running! X

Concentrating is really tiring! I'm beginning to wonder if something else is going on with my hip. Arthritis maybe, but I'm in no rush to be bothering the NHS for an x-ray at the moment 🤔

I don’t blame you, I’m pretty sure they’ve got more enough on their plate right now. Stay safe 😊

Well done Grumpyoldgirl, nice to see you back again. Good luck with activating those glutes . Have you got exercises to do too?

Oh yes Dexy, lots of standing on one leg, clamshells, lunges, and my favourite is a month python style silly walk 😁

All from my physio, I haven't been making them up myself 😬

You need to video the python walk - I am intrigued

the world is not ready. Mr Grumpy fell about laughing when he saw me! I'll describe it. Stand feet shoulder width apart . Take a step forward. Dip downwards bending both knees, pelvis under (like a mini lunge). Push weight forward onto front foot, activating glutes. Repeat, stepping with other foot.
