Apologies, I forgot to post, how bad is that? But week 2 is underway, and run 1 is complete with run 2 ready for tomorrow. It felt a big step up and felt harder but completed it maintaining same distance/average speed, so running further offset by walking slow, i think i am yet to find the balance.
i also found the pod cast tough going with the music choices not floating my boat, you could have warned me! but i shall power on through.
Midweek i went back to the bio-mechanical man to get reassessed following carbon fibre insoles last year. As part of running, i've found it rubbing against the right foot a little. Some adjustment has been made , and touch wood, its feeling better. I was also taken through appropriate stretches as legs tight, and its effecting my back a little. I've noticed an immediate improvement since starting.
So tomorrow i will be out pounding the streets for my second run, onwards dear friends,onwards....
Thanks for reading this , and good luck for your runs this week/weekend.
The bad news? The music (in my opinion) does not improve!
More bad news, it's tougher every week!
Even more bad news, you get hooked.
But after a while you realise that what you initially thought was impossible is possible! And suddenly you are a better runner than someone else YEAH BABY! I may be slow but I'm faster than lots of people I know cos they're to scared to try!
Well done you, and don't forget to not chase the monkeys! Out smart them :0)
Oops. We forgot to tell you about the music! You're doing so well. Keep at it. I must say I find listening to my own music so motivational. It was my treat to myself when I graduated!
LOL, I (perverse I know) quite enjoy the music!! Congratulations on completing week 1 Being honest, every week is a new challenge but then you're 3, 4, 5, 6 etc weeks on and you don't remember the old hurdles. Just remember, take it slow and be proud that you're doing it. Sappy but it will get you through.
I shall start by saying well done, and I shall follow this with a warning ~ running is addictive! You have been warned!!
I never used Laura to run with; instaed I just timed my runs with a watch and enjoyed the surroundings of where I was running. OK, I am lucky in that I live on Dartmoor and all my early runs were through open moorland and shading trees as I ran alongside a river on a road leading to a dam and reservoir. A quick look at the OS SX28 Landranger map will show it to be Shipley Bridge to Avon Dam.
Yes it does get harder, but it also gets easier ~ I know that sounds contradictory, but that is the case. If you go back to early runs in a few weeks time you will wonder what all the fuss was about. You will still be challenged with your current runs, but you WILL have improved, even if you don't realise it.
Well done with week one and I am sure week two will be fine. The music well it's a marmite thing but at the end of the day it's only for a few weeks after that your a free agent. Good luck and happy running and yes I agree with what's been said its addictive.
