Made it to end of week 6!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well just been out for my week 6 run 3, and...................it was ok!! Well not easy but not impossible as i once believed only a few short weeks ago! Amazing how this plan makes you achieve so much in such a short time. Had to add an extra section to my circuit because of the extended running time today so that made a change...EXCEPT for seeing my reflection in the shop windows in the High st! But i did feel more confident running in daylight this week, compared to last week, but left at 7.10 am so not too many people around. And NO RAIN so that was good!

Treated myself to running tights yesterday ( as recommended by Dan), lovely new socks specially for running( they even have R & L marked on them to save confusion on early mornings!!) and some lightweight gloves came to around £20 all in!( needed a few minor treats i figured that aren't of the food kind as have my weigh in at Slimming World tonight!but will have some after!!! )

Anyway... all is fine and to anyone approaching this run go for it( though not TOO fast!) Have signed up for "parkrun" so unless its torrential rain will be giving it a go this week!!!

Sounds great run alliboo and new clothes too Can't be bad You will love the park run My tips would be - remember barcode ( j was nearly in tears the time I forgot it ) -don't get caught up with other runners and go too fast at the start - even if you come in last like I did you still get a PB cos its your first time ! -- ENJOY

thankyou, yes i will try to go at my own pace , though my friend will probably be running with me and shes on around her 9th parkrun! She's who inspired me to start Cto5k, she been doing each week of the plan a few times so i think we are now on around the same stage! Her husband is usually in top 10 of our parkrun each week and both her sons and daughter do it too(aged 9-13)... i went and watched them the other week and was inspired, really friendly group too! only down side tonight is that i have an inkling of work's lurgy/cold... sniff! hope it doesn't come to anything and rain/wind holdsoff?! I've a week off work now so its been a positive day! And not too achy yet!

Well done alliboo! Seems only a few days since I was congratulating you on your first 8mins! :) onwards and upwards, the end is in sight. It seems to be taking me a couple of days to recover from each 25 min run, it might just be me but even still, take your time. (I'm telling myself that I'm just giving friendly advice, in reality I think I might be getting competitive and hoping you don't overtake me to graduation!) nearly there keep going! And best of luck for your parkrun! (I'll be interested to hear some feedback; I haven't tried one yet) :)

Thanks Kirsty! I know the weeks are flying by! as i'm hopefully going to do Parkrun on Sat morning, i'm going to start week 7 on Monday i think as that will give me a decent break, and i have a week off work this coming week. Hopefully i will get some decent weather to try a run along the seafront?! I will let you know how parkrun goes as long i get there ok, got an inkling of work lurgy/cold developing today... will be running with a friend who has done it a few times....

YAY!!! I'm so glad to have convinced you to become part of the "CLING ON SET" by buying a pair of super duper running tights! And well done for completing Week 6 too. It IS really a clever prog this, the way it advances you just enough each week to progress forward. Now you're all aerodynamic you will FLY!!

yes i like my new running tights, have nicked/ borrowed my partner's new cycling coat in similar fabric( he hadn't used it yet and i said it looks FAR to small for him, then he proved me wrong and said its supposed to be a tight fit!) .....I'm more than slightly surprised that i am progressing in line with the plan so far! They are SUPER DUPER!!!

I will let you know how parkrun goes as long i get there ok, got an inkling of work lurgy/cold developing today... but i'm feeling quite determined(I think/hope!) will be running with a friend who has done it a few times....
