Started C25K Oct 2018 but had to give up in Jan 2019 due to knee injury. I was/am overweight and found it very difficult. I now walk approx 20 km /12 miles per week but it gets very lonely. Would like to have another go at C25K with others who are in the same boat for support.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy your journey.
Give it a go and take it slowly - that seems to be the recipe to manage the programme. Hope you enjoy it
Look up Japanese slow running on google and see how much slower you can go
Good supportive trainers help, also at the beginning there are going to be some aches but only you know if it’s bad enough to stop you running
I am very overweight and 54, very unfit. The first week I couldn't even run for 30 seconds. I did week one for 5 weeks and it gradually got better. I've just spent 2 weeks doing week two, at the end of the last run I did a 3 minute run. So I suppose what I am saying is take your time, work with who you are. Take advice from the wonderful people on this forum and remember you will get better. My health and happiness started to improve from week one, my body is changing shape, and I now crave a run on non run days even when sometimes on run days I don't initially want to go. I always feel great after a run, however much actually running I've done. Stick with it, we are with you. Every running step will improve your life and make you proud. You are lapping everyone on the couch. 🏃♀️😁
I'm very similar age and about 8kg behind you. I'm not carrying any substantial limb injury, but I was the king of the couch having done little exercise since a major shoulder injury in 95. Prior to that injury I had been a keen swimmer and protagonist of the rowing machine.
I spotted a post on Facebook about a running group having started a c25k in early January. I first attended when they were on week 3, on the 20th of January.
That was my first introduction to the programme. Talking with leaders at this group enlightened me to the fact there was an even closer group to me doing the same programme. I adopted them on the 23rd January and have used them for my motivation since.
I complete the 2 further weekly runs on local paths and roads on my own, but look forward to rejoining the run group on Thursdays to keep up the motivation.
Last Thursday was our first meet since we completed the c25k, we ran our first 5k. There are only 3 c25k graduates in our group and I'm pleased to report we all completed the 5k.
If you are able to locate a local group who are doing the c25k programme, I would encourage you to join them.
I was very nervous on first attendance, (men in tights!) at 62 I was by far the elder of the c25k.
I discovered that although a group of three and two run leaders, all with vastly different pace. We have become firm supporters of each other. I now intend to continue with a couple of runs each week, still the group at Clitheroe being one of those runs.
It felt a hard slog to get to the level where I am able to run for 30-40 minutes. Having achieved it, I'm aiming to try and maintain that level.
Hi I’m also overweight, much heavier than you but early 50s. I’m terrified of injuries and have just completed w1r3 so just at the very beginning. I go ever so slowly - my mantra is “some people might walk faster than you jog, so what?!”
It’s pretty clear that even super slow jogging gives health benefits. Feeling fresh and excited about week 2. Hope this helps!
Thanks to everyone who posts here: in particular I’m going to look up willowandsola suggestion re Japanese slow running and thanks encouragement from lifebeginsat.
