W8R1 - penultimate week

I did write about W7R3 (via my phone), especially after I found W7Rs 1 & 2 quite challenging, but as I neared the end, inadvertently pressed the back button so it didn't submit or save, and was then distracted before I could write it out again. It was fine, easy by comparison, felt great, looked forward to this one.

MJ announces 'You're nearly done...Why not recommend C25K to friends and family, who'll be inspired by your achievement?' I know now, after this run, that the remaining runs should be a formality. It was a great run (for me), hardly any of those mind demons, maybe because I have so much other stuff going on upstairs that there was simply no space or time for them. Doesn't matter, the run was great.

My daughter is now on W4 - I hope being inspired by her old dad - she doesn't say so.

I on the other hand, I am still inspired by those sharing their experiences on here. I read them almost daily, looking for and being encouraged by the posts of similarly aged and positioned C25K'ers, but find I am even more inspired by the older runners' posts. It truly is the best support network.

My runs, as a result of this great programme, are becoming less eventful, which means the posts I make of my journey on here are also less eventful. But this is 'my journal' and as such, hope it helps others, like others have helped me. I want any doubters behind me in the programme to look ahead at posts like mine, and the many, many more, much better, more inspiring and motivating posts on here and to take heart from them - you can and will do this, if you really want to.

Great post.. thank you... I love that we, older folk inspire you... at nearly 70 it is really rewarding!

Your own post is inspiring and motivational and in turn will give the runners behind you, confidence in their own running.

We may run on our own, but we never run alone... our forum friends are always with us, my own journey has been and still is supported by all the friends on here:)

am so glad that you are enjoying this so much and yes, of course you have inspired your daughter,,, and she is well on the way!

Huge well done you!

Well done! Your posts are pretty inspiring also, and it’s marvellous that you’ve inspired your daughter too, even if she hasn’t said so. Take heed though that the last 2 weeks can also be a bit tough, so head up and go for it, but take it steady 👍😁
