Tuesday Benchmark - mixed week.

I ran today for the first time since last Tuesday, after last Tuesday’s great run I had a gout flare up and there was no way I could run. Gout is part of the reason I want to get fit and healthy because it’s a really miserable condition and can be improved by better lifestyle choices. In fairness it has been getting better and I had assumed it was maybe going away but it turns out That having either cut out or cut down on trigger foods I am probably sensitive to tomato! Anyway live and learn 🙂

So I did my Tuesday benchmark this morning and it was fine but no new records this week which I suppose is to be expected, on the positive side I’m enthusiastic again and have now lost over a stone in weight.

Having a week off has actually done me some good, I’ve been exhausted and this week I have chilled out and actually slept even better.

Happy running everybody.

Tim

So sorry to hear that you had a flare up. It is interesting to look at your over all health. You certainly have made a huge impact with the diet change and weight loss. I guess it is all a work in progress. So fingers crossed for the return to full fitness. 👍

It's about 66% genetic disposition and 33% diet so the best I can do is improve it but in all of my research I haven't heard of a slim and healthy person suffering with gout. The alternative is a lifetime of medication with some potentially unpleasant side effects so I want to give it my best shot :-)

Sounds like a week off has done you good. And congrats on the weight loss 😁

Sounds horrid. Must be really frustrating - I've now got a painful knee after my first run out for a month, so hoping it's better for tomorrow's run. I'll be royally peed off if I'm out injured again straight away, so can empathize.

Well done mate. Keep on keeping on ad I know you will. More miles in the tank.

Ouch! Glad you’re on the mend and congratulations on the weight loss. Its really nice to have a week off sometimes giving the legs a rest and coming back refreshed. 😎

Glad your gout has calmed down. Always good to know what triggers it, so all positive.

I'm the same - have stopped running every other day as I find that I end up feeling worn out which has a negative effect on my motivation as well as my actual running. Our enthusiasm needs to be harnessed 🤣
