Two runs left to go! I can’t believe I’m running for 30 minutes, feels great though!
I did have a slightly scary moment when running yesterday, the car coming towards me (in my very bright orange jacket) decided to speed up and tooted his horn whilst laughing going past me! He was pretty close for no reason at all. After the initial shock I was so angry it powered me through the last 5 mins of my run!
First time I’ve encountered this kind of behaviour But it did shake me for a minute x

Great job on the run, especially closing it out after your encounter with one of the “intelligentsia” out there. Fortunately, such people are few and far between and will eventually learn the error of their ways.
I don’t know your gender, but your post has got me to wondering whether females have a tougher time out there. A few decades ago, I know my Mum quit running due to suffering constant honks and jeers from passing drivers, I’d like to think less enlightened times, but perhaps not.
I’m male, and I like to give a nod to fellow runners as I pass (of which there seems to be many), males nod back, females blank me (on circuits you often pass twice), so I don’t nod to females the second time, but it makes me feel unfriendly, which is not my nature. Is there an etiquette? I don’t want to feel like a stalker!
Don't know about etiquette, I have just been blanked by 3 cyclists, and I had stepped aside to let them pass. I also got forced into a hedge by a driver last year who seemed to think it was the thing to do, there wasn't any other oncoming traffic. I have learnt to take these moments as a way to improve on my already encyclopedic knowledge of expletives 🤣🤬🤬🤬🤬
I've only had one experience so far when some lads stopped at the lights shouted from their car, 'Nobody wants to see that.' For one moment I did contemplate a hand gesture, but decided against it in case one of them got out. Whatever's said, I think it's best not to retaliate, especially when you're nearly 60 and under 5 feet tall!
Come to think of it, I might have had more insults, but I wear headphones most of the time. 🤷♀️ Thankfully, no one has tried to mow me down ... yet!
