I am an idiot

I kept seeing mentions of C25K.

I thought this was the next stage I.e. running 25K. Wow big jump I thought.

Then the penny dropped. Duh!

Love it :)

I remember the first London Marathon. Next day, the Daily Mirror ran a spoof story that a Japanese entrant had thought the race was for 26.2 DAYS and was still running "somewhere"

Amazingly, thousands of people fell for it, and there were dozens of "sightings" phoned into the DM. Funniest of all - the Japanese Embassy phoned the Editor offering it's assistance with translation etc. :)

PS - I'm definitely an idiot. The idiot who somehow believed for 56 years I was not capable of running more than a hundred yards, and now the idiot who is taking on their first FM attempt after a handful of succsessful HMs. It's been an "idiotic" four years lol.

Way back 3 years ago I also thought the 25 in C25K was something to do with running 25 Kilometers, but very quickly realised that was not the case, I graduated on 18th June 2018.

If you are going to do the course, good luck.

Thanks and well done. Hope you’ve kept it up.

O yes, I have kept it up, I have run? 5Ks, 10/10Ks, a 11,12,13K runs and one 10 mile run, also, 17 official Parkruns and tomorrow I will run my 25th virtual and 12th (not) parkrun.

I am fully aware that there are some people who graduate from C25K and then give up running and back to the couch, but I am NOT one of them.

Impressive. I am just pleased to get to the end of week1.

Congratulations on completing week 1 of C25K, remember that you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, drink plenty of water to keep hydrated, no running on consecutive days as that could cause a injury good luck, onwards and upwards to week 2 🏃🏾 😊

And the 5K bit isn't even about running 5km!

The goal is to run for 30 minutes - at any speed or distance - three times on different days.

So true! I've never managed it, but I love that nowadays a 5k in more than 30 minutes is a "nice run" :)
