It has been a strange nine weeks. Having never run in my 61 years I decided to take my son’s advice and try the C25K challenge. Never one to let something beat me I gave it my all (wife thinks I am mad and wishes I would stop going on about it). What I have realised in this short time is how mental strength can conquer almost anything and the determination to keep going (when your body is telling you otherwise) is all in the mind (injuries permitting). Also the high you get when you finish is amazing. I think this process is more a self discovery of your inner self than a way of keeping fit. I wish everyone well on their journey and would encourage anyone who is thinking about it to just do it 👍🏃🏼♂️

Congratulations on almost completing C25K, well done, good luck for your graduation run, tell your wife to join you to do C25K after you have graduated, what you now have is 'runners high', or the running 🐛 bug which up to now there is no known cure.
Well done. I am at exactly the same stage and just a bit older. One run to go. It feels good doesn’t it? My wife is a couple of weeks behind me.
One to go here as well! We've totally got this! Will look out for your graduation post!
Well done! 😃👍💪
Got these ready and waiting 🏅🍰🍾🥂🥳
I’m completely with you on the mind thing. Mental strength, digging deep to find inner resources is going to help you when the going gets tough. I assume you’re going to press on with your running post graduation. I certainly hope so as it’s such a life-changer
My husband was dismissive when he found out I was learning to run but it made me even more determined 💪
Good luck and have fun 👍
Thank you. There seems to be a massive split with partners either backing to the hilt/joining or totally the other way. I am hoping to do the local park run 5km with my daughter (who is up from London at Easter) and a couple of 3k runs a week. Not confident enough to join local club. Are you carrying on?
Magnificent 👏👏! What a great message and well done for committing to C25K.....life changing indeed
What an excellent post! You are so right, I'm off now for my W9R2... nearly there...like you I'm 61, never run before, and I agree, it's all in the mind at times....
