Midway Wobble!

Well, it’s taken me three weeks instead of two to do weeks 4 and 5, but I was pretty chuffed to complete W5R3 and get back on track!

Week 4 coincided with some pretty bad weather, so there were two and three day gaps between runs knocking me off my usual mon-wed-fri routine, then week 5 run two ended up with me getting a stitch really early in the run for the first time, which made me slow to a walk. So rather than feeling psyched up to head into the 20 minute run 3 I was the exact opposite, and a bit fed up of the weather and my progress.

So I decided to rewind a bit, and went back to repeat W5R1 last Monday, and R2 on Wednesday, before tackling the big one on Friday.

What a difference, Definitely the right decision, the weather was better, the runs all went well, and I was back enjoying them! Not breaking any speed records, mind you🙂

So the lesson for me anyway, is to adjust the pace if required, I’d rather spend a bit more time doing some extra runs to get comfortable with them, than push on too fast and get discouraged.

Looking forward to Week 6 starting tomorrow morning!

Well done fo your great tenacity and determination to see these tough weeks through despite the awful weather. Just think how much more we are all going to enjoy this when summer is here! Keep up the great work and good luck with week 6. I’ve just finished that week today 😊

Congratulations to you Ruithsleum on completing run 3 of week 5 🏃🏾, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾 😊

You were right there, legs were starting to feel pretty heavy by the end of the 8 minute run today! Got the pace right by the final run though.

Well done it is a sign of strength to recognise when you need a bit more time and your success on W5R3 means you really are back on track. Snails are the new hares!!
