Feel a bit downhearted today.... I attempted to run for 25 minute but ended up walking for about 1 minute of it (2 30 second intervals) because I was finding the wind so hard to deal with.

So I don’t really feel like I’ve done the run properly.

Decided to change where I run to somewhere more sheltered until the weather dies down!

Well done, you got out there.

Not only the weather but everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner.

Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

Have a rest day, prepare well and go and crack it.

Don’t feel disheartened, you ran for 24 minutes so that’s ace, two 30 sec pauses are nothing

Don't be too disheartened, you got out there and ran, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, have two days rest, drink plenty of water the day before you run, run 2 of week 7 again and run it a little slower than you did today, hopefully the wind won't be so strong

Thanks all.

I plan to run again on Friday.

Don’t think I’ll repeat the run as it was only 1 minute of walking.

I guess it’s always going to feel negative if you have to stop running.

Run 3 of week 7 is the 4th 25 minute run, I am sure you will be able to run it without 2/30 second interval walks.

Yes that’s true!

I keep forgetting how far I’ve come.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks I’ll be able to call myself a “runner”!!

You ARE a RUNNER, when you ran the first of those 4/25 minute runs which was run 3 of week 6, your coach at the end of the run told you that you are now OFFICIALLY a RUNNER 🏃🏾 👍.

Oh yes? I do remember that 😊

Try not to feel downhearted, I did my first 20 min today and walked after 15 mins, for about a minute before resuming my run, but you’ve got to focus on how far you’ve come. I’m re-doing week 5 to increase my stamina.

Don’t be downhearted. I totally get how you feel. I really really struggled with the weather today so don’t be hard on yourself. Different weather, different outcome most likely.

I don’t think the weather is going to improve any time soon!

Oh some runs can be like that. Remember you're on the longer runs now, so the odd run can feel like a struggle. It happens. Don't worry you'll be fine!

Yes, strangely my first 2 25 minute runs were the best ones!

Thanks all

Just ran W7R3 WITHOUT stopping!!

I ran in a much more sheltered area, loads better out of the wind for me.

Now it’s time for breakfast ❤️

I struggled week 7 Fleetwoodshuffle it is all in the mind from here on in. You know your body can do it just have to keep telling yourself this. You can do it👍👍

Yes I think you’re absolutely right about the mental aspect of running.

I just try and think of anything when I’m running EXCEPT my running 😀

Next run is Monday - 28 minutes 😬
