W7R2 - tired legs

Well, trying a third 25 minute run in 5 days Was always going to be challenging. Heavy legs, difficult breathing for first 8 minutes, thought the app had crashed before halfway and still had 3 mins to run.

Seems I went off faster than I realised. I did a total 3.68k today (including the walks) versus 3.24k then 3.28k. Roughly 10% further - and I felt it!

Second half was the usual “brain disengaged” calm run but my legs were getting increasingly tired. 5 minutes to go came sooner than I expected but the final minute lasted forever.

Real sense of achievement rather than a high today - I struggled and pushed on having dragged tired bones out of bed in the first place.

Tempted to leave an extra day until the next run but will see how my legs and the weather are for Friday and Saturday.

Whatever you have next, enjoy your run x

But you got through it! Well done!

leg heaviness, being properly hydrated can play a part in this as well, and what with the warm weather..

Yeah I am pretty sure I wasn’t hydrated enough. I take a pint of water to bed every night and get through most of it but I was very busy at work yesterday and didn’t drink as much as usual.

On the “credit” side, no alcohol yesterday. More water needed through today.

I take a bottle of water to bed, but only have sips if I need it during the night, get dry mouth sleeping with mouth open..😁 if I drank a pint at night I'd be always up for a pee, so keep it to a minimum.

The way to do it is to knock back a pint of water 1st thing in the morning which helps clears out some oxidants built up over night, then sipping the rest throughout the day totaling about 2-3 litres, maybe more in Summer with sweating, it can be a bit boring especially in winter, I also have herbal teas which are hydrating and also the odd pint of orange/lemon barly no added sugar, got to keep the fluids up!😋

Oh! and yeah! I like the odd beer as well, but that's another matter!😁

Also my km split times were a full minute faster than last run - I was clearly going a fair bit faster than I realised.

Well done Jay - you did it! In some of these runs we just need to get through them. You stayed strong and finished. I always find the last 60 seconds the longest! 🙃

Thank you. Last week 7 run tomorrow! I’ve learnt I’m better with morning runs as after last night my legs felt so tired this morning. Not enough time to stretch my them out. Good luck with your next run too. x

Cheers. It’s just putting one foot in front of the other and not allowing myself to quit!
