I have been on the sidelines cheering you all and absorbing all the support. Thank you all for your wise words. I have got this far. Did my 20mins run on Monday morning. I did not sleep well Sunday night, kept waking up hoping it would rain heavily but I smashed it. Today I did the Week 6 Run1. Despite taking it slow and steady, this run took me by surprise, found this very hard especially the last 5 minutes run. I was walking like a penguin when I finished it. Enjoy the running everyone but take it slower after smashing Wk5 Run3.
Week 6 Run 1 - be warned: I have been on the... - Couch to 5K
Week 6 Run 1 - be warned
I did this run yesterday morning and had read lots of warning posts on here before hand and was more than a little nervous before I set off.
In the end, I think the warnings helped me and I didn't find it too bad but definitely understand why you would. I think going from a full 20 minutes of running back to the interval running/walking is a bit of a shock. I think, even if it's just subconsciously, we expect it to be easy as we've just run for a full 20 minutes.
You did it though and that's the main thing so well done and on to wk 6 run 2
Happy running and well done again.
Yes it’s notorious, well done for completing it 👍😁
Thanks Flossy1234. I’ll be heading at that run tomorrow.
Hi Flossy1234 I did W6R2 today and I agree that going back to intervals is surprisingly hard. I put it down to being back on the hills as last week I was in Cambridgeshire and it was very flat. It’s always encouraging to know that others feel the same as you. So now all my intervals are done so now I need to just focus on my pace, it will be very slow on Friday, hopefully buiding it up a bit over the next 3 weeks. At last I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!! We can do this!!
Yes Phdgranny - we can do this.!!!. Thank you. Will be out on Friday morning for my W6R2. Today's run won't beat me!
