Life just gets in the way. This is my third attempt at starting couch to 5k.
I get as far as w1r2 and then work and commitments get in the way for a week or so. so start again.
However at third attempt the first run was harder than the previous times.
W1 r2 actually enjoyed it.
Hope to complete w1 r3 either friday evening after work or sat morning before work.
Actually looking forward to getting week one out of the way and move onto week 2.

Hi M17el. As long as you’re completing each run (as in not walking during the running sections) I don’t think you would need to repeat any weeks if there’s only a week or so in between your runs. Just go on to the next run the next time you get a chance to go out 😊 Well done for getting started 👍🏼
Good for you persevering around your busy life. It’s so worthwhile. 😄
I used to find it quite tricky fitting around full time work etc.
I definitely made the most of my days off work, (which for me was the weekend so I ran Friday after work and then Sunday). On my one mid week run I sometimes changed into running gear at the end of work and then ran somewhere on the way home.
I also used to look at the shape of the day and see where I could carve out 45 minutes. Sometimes that would be put dinner in the oven, (already in my running gear), stretch and dash out of the door!
Best of luck with whatever works for you. If you have completed run successfully, just move onto the next one unless you have had a large time gap. Your runs do you not have to fit into calendar weeks.
Hi M17el , it’s ok for life to get in the way...sometimes that just happens. It’s also ok to have an extra rest day between runs too to get other things done. Please try not to put too much pressure on yourself or you might put yourself off and we don’t want that. If you manage to do runs 1 and 2 just do 3 when you can...if you manage it ok, move on to week 2 and see how you get on...good luck & keep us posted 😉
The C25K programme is excellent, but (and I'm not criticising) it does have a few confusing imperfections. The first one is the 5K bit, When you complete the course you WILL be running for 30 whole minutes, but from what I've read on here, not many are capable of covering 5K in that time to start with (that'll come later). The second one is calling the 9 sections of the course 'weeks', which makes us believe that we should be starting a new one every Monday (for example, 6 other days are also available), this was certainly what I thought when I started. I now know different! I will complete the course, but in my own time, even if I have to repeat runs or even weeks/sessions to get them right. Hopefully when I get to the end I will continue to run, and eventually manage the magic 5K or beyond (channelling my inner Buzz Lightyear there!) The only person that I am competing with/against is myself, and that is also the only person I really want to impress with the outcome, although I'm always happy to accept kind comments from whatever direction! Life does get in the way at times, but so what, you're delayed by a day or two, it doesn't really matter does it? Just keep on keeping on and you will get there. You may come up with a plan to fit your regular running in without life interfering with it, who knows. Enjoy all of it and keep popping back on here to let us know how you're getting on, you'll get nothing but good advice and support from the good folks on here.
