I'd told myself I'd get a Garmin once I made it to Week 4 but when I saw a good deal online, I couldn't resist and clicked the button. It was supposed to only arrive in time for my W4R1 but it arrived earlier, which was a nice surprise.
My intention / excuse for buying it was to be able to track my progress over time. I also had found that the tiny screen on my fitness band was near impossible to look at while running. In this regard, it's been a huge improvement!
Happy running everyone, keep warm!

I made an impulse buy a couple of weeks ago of a very pricey Garmin at a big discount. I've been a Fitbit user for years and love them but the Garmin is a different beast altogether and my initial guilt at spending impulsively is wearing off rapidly as I get really familiar with it
You gotta love a Garmin! I have had mine for a few years now (an old Forerunner 10 - not very fancy but does all I need). I love tracking my runs and looking back at 'the good, the bad and the ugly' runs on Garmin Connect! Enjoy your new toy!🙂
Thanks Sandra, me too. I like being able to see the data and compare. My wife on the other hand is a different animal altogether and doesn't want to know the numbers. Each to their own I guess?
I think when I made it to week 3 my hubby fished out his old fitbit for me. Up until now I had been dead against these things that everyone seemed be wearing and tracking their every heartbeat, calorie, lifecycle..
Well, it's on my wrist now and hasn't budged since😅
