Ouch! Muscle ache advice needed please.

So.....after yesterday’s outdoor run involving a few hills, I now have some pretty achey upper thighs 😂.

I’m due to run W6/R2 tomorrow morning. I’ve planned a flat route outdoors. Is it ok to run if I’m still quite achey? I’m not sure if I might seize up but I’m planning on giving it a go if it won’t be detrimental to my progress.

Is there anything I can do today to prepare for tomorrow’s run given my aches? I’m planning on drinking and moving as much as possible. Will I be doing further damage if I run tomorrow?

It’s normal to feel achey or niggles post exercise if you’re new to it By all means take an extra day to recover, but keep moving. Walking about keeps things ticking over 🙂

Good luck

Have you tried a dynamic warm up before a run? Maybe an extra rest day may help? What ever you decide take it nice & steady. Happy running👍

I've been achey since I started this thing ! Remember to do dynamic stretches with your warm up walk and you will forget those aches until later :-)

I try not to worry about aches until a couple of days have passed.

Sharp pains on the other hand, I’d get looked at.
