Hi all I have had terrible pain around my ribs, clavicle and shoulder blade for the last few days. I am new to running (and exercise!) so was wondering if it could be my body reacting to running? I started week 2 on Friday and that is when it started. Nothing happened in week 1 except achy legs so is it just a coincidence?

Are you carrying anything in your hands?
This can create muscular tensions and asymmetries that often exhibit as neck and shoulder pain, although I have never heard of it affecting ribs.

I used to get rib niggles. If you get very tired your firm starts to break down. Keep your arm swing straight rather than across your body. Also think about what you eat and when before you go for your run
