Well today definitely wasn’t as bad as yesterday so I “ girded my loins” and went for my run just before 8.30 this morning. There were lots of branches down along the way, big and small and it was still quite gusty but not as cold as I thought it would be. I DID make a concession to the weather and wear my woolly Thinsulate lined hat though and glad I did, although it was pretty sweaty by the time I got back. Was dreading this run but found it quite easy as it was, although I did change my route a bit so I ran mostly with the wind behind me. My usual route would have been full into the wind so I veered off and cut up through the opposite way along the River Taw and ended up taking in part of the Park Run route to finish. It seemed to feel shorter than the last few yet ,when I looked, I’d covered more distance.

Looking forward to Wednesdays run now, which is the last run/walk one before Fridays 25mins. I’m glad I’ve worked back up through this programme as my chest is still not quite back to normal, but the hip niggles have settled again. Just need to remember to do the exercises every day.

Just as I was about to press Stop, as I’d finished my run,my phone rang and it was my son. “ my car has broken down mum.. could you fetch me please? “. So I walked back briskly and then went and collected him. I expect there will be another trip later after work so we can jumpstart it too but this morning he just needed to get his work stuff in and take the van. That’s all 4 of us had car issues in the last month now. 😡

And now the weather is horrible again so I have just made 4 quiches and a blackberry and apple pie ( still using up my stores that I froze last summer). And I’m not budging outside again today.
