Repeat or carry on?

I’ve just finished week six with a 25 minute run. Could only run for 90 seconds when I started so I’m chuffed but I’ve hit a wall. Should I repeat week 6 or push on to week 7?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

to and include advice on many topics.

We always recommend that if you do not fully complete a session that you repeat it, until completed, before moving on.

You say you completed the week.......so what wall have you hit?

Enjoy your journey.

Thank you for your encouragement. Have completed all the runs in week six so I probably should push on. I just found it so much tougher (physically) that I wonder if I can ever make it to 5k.

You don't have to make it to 5k during the plan.........approximately 13% of graduates manage that according to a poll done here.

To maximise your adaptation you should be running at an easy conversational pace, as described in the guide to the plan..........if you can't talk easily, you are going too fast.

The slower pace not only makes it achievable, but more enjoyable and reduces your risk of injury.

Thank you. Just reading the plan now. Not sure how I missed reading it at the start. Great stuff!

Hi. Just thought I would let you know that I carried on with the plan, found the run today a bit easier and even picked up the pace for the last minute! So funny that I thought I couldn’t do it! Anyway, thanks again for the encouragement:-)
