YES! Week four is done! I’ve started to resemble a panting tomato at the end of my runs now but still enjoying planning them into the week.
So this morning I HAD to run because if I didn’t run today, then I wouldn’t have been able to for the next few days and then the sky would have fallen 🙂 - who’d have thought, four weeks ago I’d be getting into a panic about not completing my weekly run for this?! Definitely a mind shift from before where I’d have probably just ignored it for a few days...
I normally run in the mid afternoon - evening and it’s been going well. So this morning at 7AM as I walked into the gym I was apprehensive. I can’t lie. I hated it. Despite starting off feeling positive it was the worst run I’ve completed so far. I wanted to give up, my legs felt so heavy, breathing I struggled with when the last run I only struggled at the end and during it I thought morning runs are not for me. Until after, when I felt so great and ready for the day getting that “runners high” people tell me about. I guess I’m wondering - has anyone else struggled with morning runs? Success stories are welcome ha!
Happy running everyone! 🏃🏻♀️ 🏃♂️

I’ve realised I’m a morning runner but my legs are mid-morning legs that need the extra warm-up of an early dog walk first!
It might be that your legs are just needing a little extra warming up to convince them they can feel lighter in the morning. Try some dynamic stretches before setting out. I’ve started building them into my routine.
I agree with you about the morning running buzz - mine keeps me high all day, so I definitely couldn’t wait until the evening before running!!
I would definitely struggle with morning runs so I don’t do them, but not everybody has that option. Parkrun last week was the one exception, but I got up super early the get my old body moving! But despite the struggle you did it and that shows determination - well done 👍😁
