It’s been a bit up and down for the last few weeks, but I’ve made it through every run and find myself in week 7! I try not to look ahead and just let Laura give me the bad news once I’m standing there ready to start. Every new challenge I’ve thought I won’t be able to make it, but following the advice here I’ve got through it and at times even felt quite strong 😯(although only for a couple of minutes usually). Some runs have been really tough, staggering to the end, some have been great and some, just mediocre, a mixture during each week.
Out this afternoon in the heat for W7 R1 and another 25 minutes. Tried to keep to the shade and go slowly, but a couple of minutes in I wasn’t sure I’d make it. But going slow, one foot in front of the other and I made it to the end without having to walk or stop. Thing is, I’m beginning to believe Laura now when she says I can do it 😁
Be kinder to yourself.... you're only human, not a running machine! You struggled but you did it! All the more kudos to you for keeping going even when it got tough!
We are following in the footsteps of the many who have gone before.... they did it and we can and will!!
Well done to you too and good luck for run 2! There are days when I feel like I might go further/faster, but yesterday was a grit your teeth and get round kind of day 🙂
Look forward to those runs.... each one is different... there would be no point to the programme otherwise... but, each run prepares you for the one following.
Trust the plan and KNOW you will do the runs... relax into the longer runs and enjoy them.
Those are wise words to take into the rest of week 7, thank you. Sometimes now I feel a little glimmer or relaxing and enjoying 😯 and I do look forward to the runs. It’s just a case of believing you can do it as you say. Anticipation not apprehension will be my watchwords this week.
Thank you - I made the mistake of looking ahead in week 5 and I was totally convinced I’d never make the 20 minute run, so I prefer to just turn up and find out on the day now! It IS a fantastic programme and But I’m not sure I’m bringing much style to it 😁
