Week 5 dilemma

Hi

First post!

I started C25K as a new years resolution and now on week 5. I am very proud of myself so far. Just back from run 1 managed 2 of the 5 minute runs but run 3 was a real struggle. Do I move on to run 2 or repeat? 8 minutes scares me!

Thanks

Great for starting c25k. Any run you don't fully complete should be repeated. Call that a practice run. Good luck and well done 😊😊

I would agree. I’m sure the app advises to complete a session 3 times before you move on to the following week, so I have repeated the first run of the week until I manage to complete it.

Well done. Honestly, I think move on. You have just transitioned into these longer runs so that's fine.

I think that running is hard! Sometimes it is a struggle! Obviously if you are in pain or super out of breath then stop or slow down. Otherwise no one can tell us this is a breeze - we have to tough it out - not to the point of hurting ourselves of course!

Perhaps try to go into the next run without thinking about how hard you found this one - the programme works to make you stronger. Seems a lot of this is in the mind!

Really good luck!

Congratulations on completing weeks one to four of C25K, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, it would be advisable for you to repeat that run, have a extra day off, drink plenty of water and run it a little slower than you did today.

You should not really move on until you’ve completed a run successfully. Put that down as a practice and try again after some rest. Slow down a bit and I’m sure you’ll smash it 👍😁

If you completed R1, move on to R2. The worst that can happen is you need more than one stab at it, and that's allowed and all part of the process...

If you completed the run... move on... if you did not then repeat it. If you do move on... slow down.. and then slow down more.. each run does make you stronger. :)
