I've had to give up :(

Knees won't take it, even with more rest days. Cheesed off as was enjoying it, I can't do any prolonged impact on my knees. Thanks for all support, I'm going to do yoga and low impact hiit instead

That is a shame.

I do understand, as I have ongoing issues with my knee, as a consequence of a non running injury, but our bodies are amazing and can be adapted by careful exercise regimes.

There is advice in the guide to the plan on minimising impact and strengthening exercises, which for most people will get them beyond the aches of the early weeks and ultimately make your knees stronger.

Take care and keep fit.

So sorry to hear that Circlethirty - but whatever you take on instead, I hope you enjoy! Best wishes and good luck to you!

Sorry to hear that, but good luck with your other endeavours. Maybe you can try again at a later date if your knee gets stronger 😁

That's a pity. Power walking has many of the same benefits as running without the same impact (because you always have one foot on the ground and aren't dropping your whole body weight on one foot as you do when you run). Obviously it doesn't build muscle the same way but many of the cardio and mental health benefits are similar. Maybe worth a thought.

Sorry you've had to stop. I've had knee issues for years but perversely since starting c25k last August I've had no pain as surrounding muscles have been built up and doing their job. Good luck for your planned exercise regime

Sorry to hear the running didn't suit you right now but there are so many different ways of getting fitter I am sure you will find one. Good luck with your plans and as Wenderwoo says maybe you will return if your knees get stronger or you find a treadmill that may suit better.

Sorry to hear you've got knee issues.

If it helps at all, I gave up at wk2 as my knees were agony (could barely walk for about a week) but after a rest and lots of walking I tried again with the programme and now 2 months post graduation and running about 15 miles a week.

Might just be too much too soon for your knees, which I think was my problem, good luck with whatever you decide to do.
