Hi all
Just finished week 2 (patting myself on the back) and was wondering if anyone has tips about week 3. The 3 minutes of running look scary.
Hi all
Just finished week 2 (patting myself on the back) and was wondering if anyone has tips about week 3. The 3 minutes of running look scary.
Trust in the plan Mouse.
The runs you have done so far have been preparing you for week 3 and the longer run sections. As long as you have completed week 2 runs successfully you are ready to move on.
Keep a steady slow pace and you will be fine. You've got this and will soon be patting yourself on the back at the end of week 3! Happy running!
Trust both yourself and the plan, take it slowly, you can always speed up on the last run if you feel you have fuel left in the tank. However, a run is a run whatever speed. Enjoy
No run should be considered scary..........read this healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Relax and enjoy the journey.
You can do it .
Listen to the admins, I nearly gave up but their sound advice kept me going .
Never ran in my life, and as an over weight half centurion if I could do it , I am sure any one can
I have enjoyed week 3 much more than I enjoyed week 2. You can do it.
Well done for finishing Week 2, you deserve that pat on the back. Unfortunately, you're like me, I like to prepare myself for what's coming, so can't resist the temptation of looking what's ahead. You will get lots of advice telling you to just trust the programme as every run prepares you for the next one. It's certainly not good to out-psyche yourself/fill yourself with dread about what's coming next! I've currently re-started C25K, I got to the start of W4 last December before running out of steam (and motivation) in December. What I used to do (and have done so far on my re-run) is, on the last run of my week, I would try and extend my final run to the length of the runs coming up. So, my very last run of week 1 I extended the final run before the cool down walk to 90 seconds. That way it didn't affect the 'result' of Week 1, (I'd completed that), but it gave me an indication of what I'd got ahead of me. If I completed it, I could go into the following week with the confidence of knowing that, if I struggled, that also helped because I already knew then that I'd go to go even slower, so I would start my next run with that in mind. I'm back on to Week 3 now, and this has worked for me up to now, but I know I'm going to have to re-visit the video of Japanese slow running again before my final run of the week on Wednesday morning, otherwise I have no chance of running for a longer time! The program does work, you just have to believe in it, and believe in yourself. Good luck and please let us know how you get on.
Woop woop! Well done you 👏.
Advice for next week - trust the programme and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Good luck!
