Well now home after Judging as an emergency Judge in Ring 3, 10 jumping classes 6 course changes 335 dogs on the sheet, 20517 steps later now with a beer and legs ache. Not sure I will be running tomorrow. Good luck to everyone who is.

I thought you were talking about dog agility! Didn’t think it would be the humans doing the steppage!

Yes dog agility and I was doing the judging, measuring courses setting courses and presentations a distance away from the rings.

A long day physically and mentally. I could not do it.

I enjoy it, if not judging I will work on rings and run my dog. Part of the reason I run is to be able stay fit and to be able to run with my dog.

Yes I polepik, leads, check in. whistle blowing for gamblers needs concentration and is more tiring.

I did majority of my own poles as well.

Sounds like they should be handing out medals to the judges, have a well earned rest tomorrow.

Get treated pretty well will only judge at shows that I am looked after. It is mentally draining and the concentration needed is very exhausting with long days left home at 6.30am and got home 6.45pm. Judged between 8.30 and 16.45 with an hour for lunch.

Blimey O'Riley, that's quite a day!

Glad they looked after you Pap.

Don’t often do Judging like this as it’s more like a day show usually do it at shows where camping is provided as this takes away the travel time either side of the day as can just go back to the caravan and chill and catch up with the camping social life. Although I quite like this show as I get to judge small and medium dogs but because I and the family run small and medium dogs I am not able to judge them so I usually end up with large dogs to judge but the family does not do this show so I travel and judge.

At first when I saw your post I thought that there were 335 dogs at a parkrun, lol, no, just as well, been reading a lot about parkruns today, ☺️

10 jumping classes and 6 course changes, you have had some day judging, I think you will be excused on not running tomorrow.

We do it to give something back to our hobby but do get food, teas and coffee all day, expenses and a gift. Sometimes nice comments and other times gripes and complaints just have to learn to ignore the bad. It’s long days but worthwhile at times seeing new competitors and new dogs get round your courses clear and in time.
