Hi just completed W1 R1 really enjoyed it and feeling proud of myself. Doing it on a treadmill in the garage as part of a 30 day fitness challenge where I am aiming to do at least 20 minutes of exercise each day so planing to intersperse my runs with a little yoga or walking on the alternate days. Can I ask does anyone else do this or do you have exercise free rest days in between? Also eventually would love to have a go at running outside but a little embarrassed to do that will need to build up to it. How do you all do yours? A treadmill or on the street?

Well done for getting started 🙂

It’s ok to do low impact exercises on non run days. Yoga is great. I would recommend core strengthening exercises as they will help you run better and stronger. I do core strengthening exercises every day and run every other day.

Good luck let us know how you get on 🙂

Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1 and welcome to the forum, you can do the whole program on a treadmill but it would be nice, especially after week 4 to run outside, preferably in a park but that's up to you, onwards and upwards to run 2.

You can do other excersises on non running days, 20 minutes is OK but do NOT try to run for 20 minutes.... yet. 😊

Hi AlMorr Thank you, yes I would like to set that as a goal to one day do it a a park or such. I have no chance at the moment of running for 20 mins but hope to one day. My challenge is quite vague just 20 mins of movement every day so the C25k fits in really well and if I’m really hurting tomorrow A bit of yoga may help. I aspire to join a gym eventually so will be able to do a few classes too on the days that I’m not running Thank you for the encouragement

Well done! Treadmills are great to build confidence. I did the first 2 weeks on the gym and then ventured outside. It feels different outside but is less sweaty! I still do the odd treadmill run now and then. Either is good.
