Hi all! Just wanted to big up the NHS C25K+ podcast!
I graduated on New Year’s Day and have been re-running my final app run 3 times a week and feeling less and less motivated...I read through more posts on here and found myself downloading the podcast! Amazing! I did it this morning...well most of it!
Had a really physically busy couple of weeks at work and was tired so only managed 25 mins before my calves got really tight and I had to finish with an early walk! I’m ok with that though, I’ll keep going!
I love that the podcast is still coaching and for me, I need that! I’m having real trouble slowing down! I think I run faster because I feel less pressure in my legs that way...does that make sense?! (not fast in many people’s eyes but fast for me!) but by running too fast, I’m losing complete control of my breathing and really not enjoying the run. I’m hoping by continuing with these podcasts that my technique and therefore my runs should improve! 🤞🏻
I’m sorry, I’ve waffled a bit! In a nutshell, the NHS C25K+ podcast (and Laura!) is amazing, try it! 😁

That sounds amazing well done .....I hopefully will graduate tomorrow and I know I will need that extra motivation to keep going where will I find the podcast please .? ......keep up the good work !
I graduated a couple of months ago. I've been pottering about quite happily but I've decided I need a bit more focus so I'm giving c25k+ a go this morning. I'll let you know how I get on.
I tried it this morning, it was nice to have Laura back, but the cadence is slow for me, I only have little legs. My brisk walk was slowed right down, so too the running. On the plus side it was a lovely sunny morning and I didn’t get hot and sweaty. Debating my next move.
I’m the same with little legs and my beats are faster than the beats of the music, I think that’s why I tire so much? I’m hoping that by sticking with this that my technique will improve so I can run for further/longer...🤔
Gave it a go - Pavlovian responce to every word Laura says! I really liked the coaching. It's very easy to slip into bad habits running on your own. I suddenly found myself running taller ( difficult when you're only 5 feet tall!).
I did get a little fed up with the music, but without it, you wouldn't get the pace right. After about 25 minutes I turned it off and went back to my playlist, but a good experience I will be repeating.
I ran 7.5k today, furthest I've ever run and so lovely to see blue sky and sunshine 🌞
I surprised myself. It was such a lovely day I took a detour and did a loop of the local marina. It was lovely but maybe not on a Saturday morning - very busy! I was quite slow and could certainly feel it in my thighs running back, but a run's a run and I enjoyed it.
Good luck with your running. Slower and more distance is good conditioning for speed too. 👍
